The exclusive light-alloy wheels in Ferric Grey in conjunction with the M Sport brake optimally transfer acceleration and braking operations to the asphalt (225/40 ZR18 front, 245/35 ZR18 rear).

The M Performance TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 3.0 litres combines a TwinScroll turbocharger with Valvetronic, double-VANOS and High Precision Injection. This intelligent innovative package reduces the combined fuel consumption figures of the BMW M140i with 8-speed Steptronic transmission to only 7.1 litres per 100 km (xDrive: 7.4 litres/100 km) with CO2 emissions of 163 g/km (xDrive: 169 g/km) and permits impressive performance values: 250 kW (340 hp), maximum torque of 500 Nm and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds (xDrive 4.4 seconds). The maximum speed is 250 km/h (electronically limited). Within the BMW 1 Series,
this engine is used exclusively in the BMW M140i.

The BMW M140i 5-door embodies sporty driving pleasure and a high measure of driving dynamics. Its chassis lowered by ten millimetres brings the power directly onto the road. Its M Sport brake with blue brake callipers and M logo guarantees maximum deceleration even with an especially dynamic driving style. Its variable sports steering with modifications to the power steering and self-centring moment give the driver an especially reliable sensation of directional control.
More dynamism: the lowered M sport chassis
In order to translate the outstanding engine performance into impressive and authoritative driving dynamics, springs and stabilisers have been precisely adjusted to the high-torque 6-cylinder engine. Specific elasto-kinematics for the front axle guarantee impressive driving moments. Even more agility is achieved by the specially tuned M sport suspension lowered by 10 millimetres and the variable sport steering including Servotronic. The optional BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system distributes the propulsive force of the BMW M140i xDrive flexibly between the axles and supplies best possible traction even under difficult road conditions.

Responsible for the dynamic sprints of the BMW M140i is the option of the 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The Launch Control it contains ensures that accelerations from 0 to 100 km/h are possible in only 4.6 seconds. Simply press the DSC button, set the selector lever to position “S”, briefly depress the brake and kick down the accelerator pedal – releasing the brake now will teach you precisely what thrust means.
Greater control: M Sport brakes as standard
Four-piston fixed-calliper aluminium disc brakes resolutely bring the 18'' M light-alloy wheels of the type 436 M Double-spoke at the front to a standstill. Acting on the rear axle is a two-piston version. Thanks to internal ventilation they perform reliably even under a high thermal load. Even when the vehicle is stationary, this tremendous braking power can be recognised by the distinct blue brake callipers with M logo.
