AN OVERVIEW OF BMW X SERIES.

When it was launched in 2009, the BMW X1 quickly became the leading compact SUV in the premium segment. Robust versatility sets the vehicle apart – sports tuning ensures dynamics and agility in all conditions. And with the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive, traction and driving dynamics reach an exciting level, as drive force is continuously distributed to the front wheels and rear axle. First presented in 2016 as a concept car based on the X1, the vehicle’s expressive design and technological brilliance is inspirational. The almost square-cut wheelhouses, as well as the beads and side sills, together with the flat roofline, underscores it as an extraordinary extrovert. The kidney grille widening towards the bottom and the air inlets blend harmoniously into the front end and signal unique self-confidence.
Modern turbo engines, in combination with the Steptronic transmissions, ensure lively thrust in all conditions. The typical BMW driving dynamics ensure driving pleasure on any surface. The BMW logos on the C-pillar are reminiscent of legendary BMW models such as the 2000 CS and the 3.0 CSL.

Virtually unrivaled, the BMW X3 was unveiled at the 60th International Motor Show (IAA) in Germany in 2003. The new intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive is launched here, enabling continuous variable power distribution between the front and rear axles. Another new feature is the beefy and athletic design with the striking front end with bi-xenon lights brushing against the kidney grille. They feature the characteristic parking light rings, making BMW vehicles from this period clearly recognizable from a distance – even in the dark.
A facelift takes place in 2006 which refines the radiator grille, taillights, and front apron. Most of the engines are also reengineered, producing significantly more power with greater efficiency.

The third generation of the SUV was launched in 2017. Despite its slightly larger dimensions, the developers succeeded in significantly reducing the vehicle’s weight, which benefits agility. The headlights, radiator grille, and taillights emphasize the car’s width at the rear and front. With the wider kidney grille compared with its predecessor and the air inlet openings, the BMW X3 exudes athletic confidence. The muscular exterior hints at the power waiting to be deployed. The driver assistance systems are a pleasure to use in the modern, animated cockpit with gesture control. The model meets premium standards – for example, the vehicle can pass automatically. The sporty design of the chassis, transmission, and engine ensures that driving pleasure is always the key factor. Of course, the X3 is available with BMW xDrive, the intelligent all-wheel drive. And thanks to that, the car is always the right choice – for urban environments as well as all terrains.

In 2014, the time had come: BMW introduced an SUV coupe in the mid-size class. Technically based on the BMW X3, it stands out thanks to its curved roofline, which, together with the double beads, underscores the vehicle’s sporty appearance even from the side. The front and rear also emphasize the vehicle’s width: The flat kidney grille at the front and the sideways elongated headlights and taillights set the appropriate accents.
The wide range of efficient and powerful engines means a BMW X4 performs agilely and dynamically in any situation. The standard all-wheel drive enables unique driving dynamics regardless of the surface conditions.

At the end of 1999, BMW launches nothing less than a revolutionary innovation: The manufacturer’s first off-road vehicle. The Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with standard all-wheel drive combines exclusivity with sportiness and comfort. A premium-class SUV with the agility typical of BMW, not least thanks to the superb chassis tuning and powerful engines with six or eight cylinders.
The 2003 facelift brings a significantly more striking appearance thanks to the revised kidney grille and clear technical improvements in the form of the new BMW xDrive. Considerably improved traction and faster response means clear advantages in handling and dynamics. From 2004, the BMW X5 4.8is is the most powerful eight-cylinder engine available – it is characterized by 4.8 liters of displacement and an output of 265 kW (360 hp). More than 500,000 units of the E53 model are produced.

The aerodynamic improvements to the third generation of the successful SUV immediately catch the eye. A sophisticated air inlet system in the front apron and a vent behind the front wheels reduce air turbulence in the front wheelhouses. This not only reduces drag but also brings sports car flair to the BMW X5. The harmonious proportions exude sophistication, supremacy, and agility.
The interior exudes elegance with ambient lighting and the use of lavishly crafted, high-quality materials such as double-stitched leather. A revised iDrive touch controller – makes controlling the extensive driver assistance systems a real pleasure. These include cruise control with traffic jam assistant as well as an LED spotlight that illuminates people and animals at night, making them stand out in the dark for the Night Vision system.

In 2022, thanks to the extensive facelift of the front section, the BMW X5 appears almost like a completely new model. The broad, horizontal surface design for the front apron together with the characteristic BMW kidney grille featuring the “Iconic Glow” lighting effect and reworked, narrower LED headlights produce lend the vehicle a striking and expressive face. This approach to styling continues all the way through to the three-dimensional LED rear lights and the broad stance of the rear. Depending on the package selected, the BMW X5 receives an additional boost to its appearance in terms of modernity (X Line) or athleticism (M Sport package). 
 

The modern design also extends to the interior. Thanks to the integrated BMW Curved Display and with BMW Interaction as a control element, it creates a superlative multimedia experience. Contrasting with this to set luxurious highlights is the glass application Crafted Clarity with its hand-crafted, polished glass crystal elements on the selection lever with illuminated X symbol on the Start-Stop button and the iDrive Controller. In addition, the new Trailer Assistant now helps when reversing with a trailer in tow.
 

With its powerful BMW TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder combustion engine, it offers sporty driving dynamics and impresses with supreme comfort thanks to xOffroad package and Adaptive 2-axle air suspension.

In 2008, a car appeared on the streets that defied classification: Is it a coupe? Is it an SUV? It is neither, although it combines the best qualities of both classes of vehicle. It is a car for individualists who value performance in every aspect: With 6- and 8-cylinder engines, the BMW X6 has plenty of power, perfectly distributed by the Dynamic Performance Control. The DPC, in conjunction with the intelligent xDrive all-wheel drive, increases steering precision, directional stability, and traction because the drive torque can now be continuously distributed to each wheel individually.
The coupe-like sideline gives the car a flat appearance, while the narrow headlights, together with the kidney grille, visually widen the front: The BMW X6 is also a powerhouse in terms of design, a vehicle unlike any other.
In 2012, the appearance was subtly revised as part of a model upgrade. The parking light rings are now available in an LED look. A far greater number of equipment options are available: For example, the hood with powerdome.

Powerful proportions and expressive design are the hallmarks of the 2019 third-generation BMW X6. The lights are very narrow and very wide at the front and rear. They support the vehicle’s extrovert appearance, as do the large air inlets on the sides and below the kidney grille. With its own lighting and the optional laser light from the headlights, it ensures that the coupe SUV’s individuality remains recognizable, even in the dark. Engines, driver assistance systems, and the standard xDrive all-wheel drive enable unparalleled driving dynamics.
The luxurious equipment includes optional temperature-controlled holders for both hot and cold drinks or the 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System. Driving the BMW X6, you not only reach your destination quickly and safely, but also comfortably.

The largest SUV BMW has ever built has a light and agile appearance thanks to its minimalist design and styling. Sporty, athletic, and confident, it upholds the qualities typical of BMW and redefines them. Thanks to, among other things, double wishbones at the front and a five-link axle at the rear, as well as the xDrive all-wheel drive and the 8-speed automatic transmission, driving comfort and powerful driving dynamics are exceptional in this class.
Inside, the driver receives all relevant information and controls the various functions and premium driver assistance systems via two 12.3-inch screens, while two screens in the rear handle the on-board entertainment. If the passengers look up, their gaze falls on a standard panorama roof that features 15,000 colored light points when it’s dark.
The BMW X7 can be customized in a variety of ways. From Merino leather with contrasting stitching to exclusive metallic paint finishes – no wish is left unfulfilled.

Introduced as a concept car in April 2018, the electric version of the BMW X3 arrives at dealerships in 2021. In the fifth generation of BMW eDrive technology, a powerful 286 hp and a torque of 400 Nm are available from launch. Together with the ingeniously tuned chassis, this ensures unparalleled driving dynamics even on longer journeys: Not least, thanks to the recuperation system, the range (WLTP) is a whopping 450 kilometers.
The interior of the SUV is also impressive: A modern, elegant ambiance meets the animated BMW Live Cockpit and details such as the blue start button. The BMW iX3 feels right at home in both urban surroundings and off-road.

Even the front of the BMW iX guarantees a dramatic appearance: The extremely narrow headlights contrast with the vertically positioned, expansive kidney grille, behind which a whole army of sensors is housed. Additionally, there is the clean, consistently aerodynamic design with recessed door handles and a clear design language.
With an impressive range of 600* km (WLTP) and a total output of up to 370* kW (500* hp) thanks to fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, the vehicle stands out in technical precision, progress, and everyday practicality.
Inside, the iX continues the familiar BMW qualities such as comfort, sportiness, and innovation in a completely new interior experience. The entirely redesigned iDrive is the logical evolution for simple and natural handling. Information appears on displays curved toward the driver or are projected onto the windshield via a head-up display. Extensive driver assistance systems ensure a comfortable as well as safe driving experience. The BMW iX a forward-looking, all-electric SUV in the premium class.
